You'll gain hands-on experience, build in-demand technical and professional skills, and contribute to meaningful projects while learning in a collaborative, team-based environment. This internship is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience that prepares students for a potential full-time career with IBM Consulting upon graduation. ### Your role and responsibilities As a Business Transformation Consultant Intern at IBM, you'll help organizations modernize financial processes, improve operational performance, and drive business transformation through technology, data, and innovation. As part of our Finance Transformation practice, you'll support initiatives focused on financial operations, business performance, reporting, process optimization, and digital transformation. No two projects are exactly alike—you could support clients across healthcare, financial services, public sector, retail, industrial, manufacturing, and more. Work side-by-side with experienced consultants, finance professionals, and technology specialists to solve real business challenges. Through mentorship, professional development, structured learning, AI-enabled consulting, and hands-on project experience, you'll build valuable consulting, business, and technology skills while gaining exposure to Fortune 500 clients. Required technical and professional expertise - Currently pursuing aBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. - Foundational understanding of financial concepts, business operations, accounting principles, or business performance management. - Ability to analyze information, identify trends, and solve problems using a structured approach. - Exposure to data analysis, reporting, business processes, or finance-related projects through coursework, student organizations, case competitions, or internships. - Understanding of how technology, automation, data, and Artificial Intelligence can support business transformation and improve financial outcomes. - Interest in consulting, business strategy, financial operations, and digital transformation. - Curiosity about emerging technologies and a desire to continuously learn and grow throughout your career. Preferred technical and professional experience - Exposure to finance, accounting, business analytics, enterprise applications, or process improvement initiatives through academic or internship experiences. - Familiarity with data analysis, reporting tools, spreadsheets, business intelligence, or financial systems. - Passion for Finance Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, consulting, and continuous learning.
