## Job description

Honeywell is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer II to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python and Java, experience with cloud technologies, and a passion for delivering high-quality software products that support Honeywell's digital transformation initiatives.

## Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Python and Java. Build scalable APIs, microservices, and backend systems. Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to define and implement technical solutions. Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.

Develop automated unit, integration, and performance tests. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues in a timely manner. Optimize application performance, scalability, and security. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers when required.

## Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field. 3-6 years of software development experience. Strong programming skills in Python and Java. Experience with object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices. Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture. Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.

Proficiency in Git-based source control systems. Experience with Linux/Unix environments. Knowledge of software testing frameworks and debugging tools.

### Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Experience with data processing, analytics, or machine learning applications is a plus.
