[Apply on Hitachi’s careers site →](https://careers.hitachi.com/linux-devops-engineer/job/IRC303422) [OpenNash Jobs](https://jobs.opennash.com/) / [Hitachi](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/hitachi/) / Linux DevOps Engineer ## Job description ### Job Description Design and maintain an automated update pipeline using Blue/Green strategies to toggle between system versions with minimal outage. ### Requirements We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the Atellica Near-Zero Downtime Update - Proof of Concept project, aimed at dramatically reducing downtime during updates of Atellica diagnostic platforms (currently around 2 hours per update). The project involves prototyping and comparing two candidate architectures: KVM-based Blue/Green virtualization A/B Dual Drive (bare metal) The work spans the full cycle - from discovery and lab prototyping to on-site testing on the client's real hardware (analyzer, PCC, and associated computing units) and a final analysis phase delivering recommendations for productization Requirements - 6+ years of experience in DevOps, automation, and scripting - Strong proficiency in Bash and Python Experience with virtualization (KVM or similar hypervisors) is a plus Understanding of orchestration, switchover, rollback, and recovery processes for distributed/multi-component systems Experience building monitoring and alerting (infrastructure health metrics) Experience building CI/CD or deployment automation - Strong technical documentation skills (runbooks, workflow documentation) ### Nice to Have Experience in regulated industries (medtech, healthcare, industrial systems) Experience with bare-metal provisioning and A/B deployment schemes Understanding of cybersecurity and validation & verification (V&V) requirement ### Key Responsibilities - Develop automation scripts (Bash/Python) for coordinated VM snapshot and update orchestration - Build monitoring and alerting solutions for hypervisor and VM health metrics - Implement automated testing frameworks for performance regression testing - Build deployment automation for repeatable VM provisioning and configuration - Document automation workflows and runbooks for operations team handoff What we offer Exciting Projects: We focus on industries like High-Tech, communication, media, healthcare, retail and telecom.
