When you join our Hotels team, that’s exactly what you’ll do every time you come to work! You will assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs. As a Commis, you’re not just preparing great tasting food items – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest. ## Responsibilities As the Commis, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: Prepare food for guests and team members according to standard recipes, procedures and hygiene standards. Support the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef in the smooth operation of the kitchen. Prepare and present food according to required quality and plating standards. Follow HACCP, food safety and hygiene requirements at all times. Use kitchen equipment, tools and machines safely and correctly. Assist with off-site events and other duties when required. Assist with stock taking and maintain proper inventory. Be aware of hotel occupancy, events and business levels. Respond professionally to guest feedback and requests. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards guests and team members. Follow hotel policies, procedures and the Team Member Handbook. Attend and actively participate in training sessions. In addition, this role requires the following minimum qualifications: Basic knowledge of Indian ingredients, spices and cooking techniques. Passion for food and willingness to learn and develop culinary skills. Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety. Able to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced hotel environment.
