Located on 40 acres of lush tropical gardens, this Forbes 4-Star, AAA 4-Diamond property is consistently ranked among the world's best resorts with 780 rooms, 100,000 square feet of banquet space, and 7 food and beverage outlets. This includes 3 restaurants, 3 bars, a cafe, and in-room dining. Hotel Website, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube The ideal candidate will have some of the following knowledge, skills or abilities: Working knowledge of the Hawaiian Language In-depth knowledge of the Hawaiian Culture and class subjects Must have working knowledge and able to instruct in specialty classes: Hawaiian Culture, History, Language, and various traditional Hawaiian practices and lifestyle. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with resort guests and other team members. Ability to extend arms, stoop, stand, bend, and walk in public areas for extended periods of time. Ability to read reports. Ability to write sign-out logs and monitor inventory. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Ability to work in cold and hot weather. Computer literate. As a Cultural Resource Specialist, you’re not just providing support to Hawaiian Culture department manager – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest. ## Responsibilities ### Here's what you'll do during a typical day Create meaningful Hawaiian cultural experiences: Share the rich traditions, values, and stories of Hawai ʻ i by delivering engaging cultural activities and experiences that create a true sense of place for guests while supporting the Director of Culture as needed. ### Lead immersive cultural classes and demonstrations Facilitate a variety of hands-on experiences such as Hawaiian language lessons, hula, ʻ ukulele, lei making, coconut husking, lauhala weaving, Hawaiian games, and other cultural demonstrations that celebrate the spirit of Hawai ʻ i. ### Innovate and enhance cultural programming Research, develop, and implement new cultural activities, events, and guest experiences that further position Grand Wailea as Hawai ʻ i's premier destination for authentic cultural connection and innovation. ### Support team member engagement initiatives Assist with recognition programs, service anniversary celebrations, holiday events, team member appreciation activities, survey initiatives, and other programs that foster a positive and connected workplace culture. ### Strengthen community partnerships Participate in and support community outreach efforts, charitable events, youth hospitality programs, career days, and other initiatives that reinforce Grand Wailea's commitment to the Maui community. ### Champion the spirit of aloha Serve as a cultural ambassador by sharing knowledge, building connections, and creating memorable experiences that embody the warmth, hospitality, and traditions of Hawai ʻ i. ## Qualifications What It Takes to Make the Stay At Hilton, our core values define what it takes to succeed here and guide the qualities we look for in every team member: A passion for spreading the light and warmth of Hospitality.
