## Job description

Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You The iconic Waldorf Astoria New York is seeking an accomplished Director of Labor Relations to join its leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for a strategic labor relations leader with Local 6 Union management experience to shape employee relations, strengthen partnerships, and help lead labor strategy at one of New York City’s most legendary luxury hotels. As a Director of Labor Relations, you’re not just leading the hotel’s labor relations function – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

## Responsibilities

### Here's what you'll do during a typical day
- Lead labor relations strategy: Design, implement, and oversee labor relations strategy to align with organizational goals, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, labor laws, and statutory requirements
- Oversee labor disputes: Lead negotiations, grievances, mediations, arbitrations, and labor claims, including EEOC charges and local/state employment issues
- Provide expert guidance: Advise senior leadership on labor-related matters, offering strategic support in conflict resolution, legal compliance, and decision-making
- Ensure legal compliance: Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, regulations, and court rulings, ensuring fair and consistent application of procedures across the organization.

### Oversee wage administration

Ensure strategic alignment and accurate application of wage policies, maintaining compliance with labor agreements and compensation structures.

### Cultivate a high-performing team

Drive engagement and retention through performance management, professional development, and recognition programs
