More ways to build a career that moves you forward. ### Overview Group 1 Automotive is seeking experienced Service Advisors for our Kansas City-area dealerships, including Shawnee Mission Kia and BMW/MINI of Shawnee Mission. We're looking for customer-focused professionals who excel in a fast-paced service environment and have a talent for building trust with customers while identifying and recommending vehicle maintenance and repair solutions. As a Service Advisor, you'll serve as the primary link between customers and the service department, ensuring a seamless experience from vehicle check-in through service completion. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, automotive knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage a high-volume workload. If you're driven, organized, and motivated by delivering exceptional customer service and achieving results, we invite you to explore a career with one of the nation's leading automotive retailers. ### Responsibilities - Schedule and confirm service appointments to ensure an efficient customer experience - Create accurate, transparent repair orders with detailed cost and time estimates - Serve as the primary liaison between customers, technicians, and parts teams - Provide timely updates and clear communication throughout the repair process - Review inspections and confidently recommend maintenance and repair services - Maintain strong product, warranty, and service knowledge Accurately document customer interactions and service details in the system Qualifications Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving recordHigh school diploma or equivalent required; additional automotive training or certifications are a plus Prior experience as an Automotive Service Advisor, Service Writer, or in a customer-facing role within a dealership or automotive service environment preferred - Strong knowledge of automotive maintenance, repair processes, and vehicle systems - Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information in a clear, professional manner - Proven ability to upsell recommended maintenance and repairs based on vehicle needs - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customers and tasks in a fast-paced environment - Proficiency with dealership management systems (such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar) and basic computer skills - Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, parts staff, and management What makes a successful Service Advisor? - Strong communication and relationship-building skills - Ability to confidently recommend services and solutions Automotive service or maintenance knowledge - Excellent organization and multitasking abilities A results-driven, customer-first mindset In addition to competitive compensation, we offer: Monthly base pay of $2,500, plus performance‑based commission Performance‑driven pay structure that rewards customer satisfaction, productivity, and quality service Ongoing training, coaching, and support in a high‑volume service environment Opportunities for long‑term growth within Group 1 Automotive Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability insurance Equal Opportunity Employer We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status.
