We’re seeking Haul Truck/Mine Equipment Operators to join our fast-paced team. Begin a rewarding mining career where you can thrive – join EVR today! ### About the role Haul Truck/Mine Equipment Operators are responsible for safely operating haul trucks to transport coal or rock, as well as providing operational support in an open pit coal mine. EVR provides structured internal training to support new employees and create opportunities for long-term career growth in the mining sector. Haul Truck/Mine Equipment Operators are hired as permanent employees across all our mine sites and receive a competitive compensation package that includes base earnings plus benefits. ### Schedule 12-hour day and night shifts. Employees are assigned to one of the following rotations depending on site: Fording River Operations: (effective January 6, 2027) 7x7 rotation (7 days on | 7 days off | 7 nights on | 7 days off) Elkview Operations, Greenhills Operations, and Line Creek Operations: 4x4 rotation (2 day shifts | 24-hour short change | 2 night shifts | 4 days off) ### Benefits Two Annual Bonus - Plans Health Lifestyle Account Medical, Dental, Vision Coverage Retirement Savings Package Paid Training and Vacation In this role, you will: Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies At three of the operations, new employees start in a haul truck ranging from 180-400 ton capacity At the fourth operation, new employees begin in equipment operator roles, primarily operating dozers and graders, as haul trucks at this site are autonomous - Perform mining related duties such as handling electrical cables, delivering supplies, and assisting with equipment and autonomous haulage support - Work safely in seasonal outdoor conditions, including rain, fog, snow, winter temperatures, uneven terrain, and exposure to dust, noise, and vibration - Communicate effectively with dispatch, operators, and supervisors using two-way radios and onboard computer systems - Conduct pre and post operational inspections and complete equipment reports Safely climb, access and exit equipment, and lift up to 50 lbs - Complete additional operational tasks as required, which may involve pit utility duties or broader mine operations labour support depending on site assignment Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma, General Education Development, or five years related work experience Valid class 5 driver’s license, or equivalent, without learner’s restrictions - Ability to stay on task and focused during long hours and in adverse weather conditions - Ability to climb ladders/steps (up to ~3 m), sit for extended periods, perform frequent 3-point contact and lift/move up to 50 lbs - Strong commitment to safety including personal safety and the safety of co-workers Preferred Experience: Experience operating heavy or agricultural machinery (e.g., forklift, skid steer, loader, tractor, combine) is an asset Experience in hands-on, safety-focused work environments such as industrial, construction, farming, forestry, or other fast-paced, production-driven settings is an asset Experience using two-way radio communication and following structured procedures Basic computer literacy Work Location: This position is based at our Elk Valley operations. Candidates must be able to reliably commute or relocate to the Sparwood, B.C. area.
