The Copper Smelter and Mount Isa Community The Mount Isa Copper smelter is one of two Copper Smelters in Australia. We process over a 1,000,000 tonnes of Copper Concentrate per year from both our own mines and from sources all over the country and globe. No matter where you live in Mount Isa its always a short commute to work; Mount Isa has a barramundi stocked lake and is surrounded by camping and 4WD opportunities. Mount Isa has a large sporting community, gyms as well as plenty of leisure activities and heaps of events including the biggest rodeo in the Southern Hemisphere.
