Retrieve and modify CAD models of propulsion components and assemblies for creation of finite element models. Create analytical data to drivecomponent designs to meet product design requirements. Documentation of analysis objectives, assumptions, conclusions, and results. Collaborate with the Design Responsible Engineer to troubleshoot design challenges at hand and drive product designs. Cooperatively work with test engineers to enhance laboratory procedures to support the development of first-time capable analysis techniques. Hybrid Work Policy – 3 days In-Office, 2 Days Remote – Must be able to report to local office. ### REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study and five (5) years of experience in a related occupation. 5 years of experience with the following: Structural engineering materials, large-scale non-linear problems, optimization, topology, reliability, robust design, and process automation; Model creation and Finite Element Analysis (FEA); Structural analysis of propulsion components and systems; Composite Structuredurability analysis; ABAQUS includingImplicit, Explicit and ABAQUS CAE;Optistruct, Hypermesh, and iSIGHT; Fesafe,FEMFAT, Mold Flow, and DIGIMAT;Non-linear analysis, failure theoriesand multi-axial fatigue and composites;Principles of vehicle propulsion systemdesign, operation, and testing; andProgramming in Java, Python, andMATLAB. #LI-DNI About GM Our vision is a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion and we embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer and more equitable for all.
