D242 Drillers are responsible for all shipboard drilling tasks for submarine mechanical components. This includes nuclear and non-nuclear shipboard work. Limited shop work is included. Shipboard drilling work in the Groton Shipyard involves nearly every portion of a submarine, inside the hull, exterior, tanks and confined spaces. We are looking for people who want to learn and grow within our Outside Machinist Department as we continue to build the most advanced submarines. ### Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or GED or 2+ years related technical experience 0-5 years of relevant experience Must be available for all shifts Preferred: Preference will be given to applicant with drilling experience in a shipyard, machine shop or structural fabrication environment or applicants who have graduated from a technical school for mechanical Trades. Preference will be given to applicants willing to obtain qualifications to work in radiological areas.
