Impact of the Role General Profile Requires working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical scientific or operational processes - Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise - Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods - Works with a moderate degree of supervision - Performs manual tasks according to established procedures ### Essential Functions Supports the engineering design and development of electrical control and automation systems and devices. Provides setup, configuration, troubleshooting and repair of electrical control systems and prototypes. Assists with testing of systems, devices, and instruments. Documents testing procedures, and measures and records performance results following established methods. ### Required Qualifications Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience ### Preferred Qualifications Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred Knowledge, skills & abilities: Electronic Equipment Installation. Engineering Support. Laboratory Supply Management. Performance Analysis. Technical Troubleshooting. Testing Result Reporting. Control Systems. Electro-Mechanical Components/Instruments. Test Documentation. Equipment Repairs. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software. Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. May need to stand for long periods of time. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. May be requested to work a different shift. Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required. ### Travel Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
