As the Lead Technical Proposal Engineer, you will serve as the technological point person for the entire Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) phase. You are the architect of our winning bids, translating complex client requirements into competitive, high-margin, and technically superior EPC (Engineer, Procure, & Construct) solutions. In this role, you won’t just write proposals—you will define the infrastructure of the future, working on high-impact projects ranging from conventional utility substations to advanced renewable grid integrations, FACTS, and HVDC segments. ### What You Will Do Architect Winning Solutions: Provide technical expertise to develop comprehensive solutions (configuration, performance estimation, economics) that satisfy customer CTQs (Critical to Quality) and drive our "passion to win." ### Lead the ITO Phase Drive the technical accuracy of proposals, including scope definition, installation requirements, bill of materials (BOM), and cost estimation for engineering, testing, and commissioning. ### Optimize Bid Competitiveness Design and implement reusable methodologies, templates, and libraries to deliver highly accurate cost estimates with improved efficiency. ### Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Proposal Managers, Sourcing, and multi-discipline engineering teams to create robust bid packages and manage vendor responses. ### Technical Advocacy Interface with commercial teams to translate complex technical capabilities into clear, value-driven presentations for customers. ### Risk Mitigation Perform essential studies to verify design integrity and ensure all proposals meet industry standards (IEEE, NESC, ANSI, IEC, etc.) while maintaining a keen focus on performance risk. ### What You Will Bring Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline. ### Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in substation/electrical design, specifications, and estimating for power generation, transmission, or distribution. ### Proposal Expertise Minimum 2 years of proven experience in technical proposal writing and management. ### Technical Proficiency A solid foundation in HV/EHV substation physical design, protection & control schemes, SCADA communication systems, and power system studies. ### Strategy & Persuasion Proven ability to build consensus, influence stakeholders, and communicate technical differentiators effectively. ### Agility Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time, including international travel, to support customer presentations and site evaluations.
