Where You Will Work Our Miami smelter and rod plant is nestled just 90 miles east of Phoenix. The smelter processes copper concentrate primarily from our company’s Arizona copper mines and is the most significant source of sulfuric acid for our North American leaching operations. Visit Globe-Miami.com to learn more. ### What You Will Do Assist in a production process such as casting, milling, coiling, shipping, furnace and refractory. - Operate mobile equipment - Operate heavy industrial equipment/processes - Operate hand/power tools - Complete the appropriate skill level criteria of the progression program - Perform labor type work and keep facilities clean and free from job related safety hazards. - Performs other duties as required ### What You Bring To Freeport - Must be qualified in two major positions as defined in the Progression program - Must meet prior level progression criteria - Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety. - Ability to work in a potentially stressful environment Effective written and verbal communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company - Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards - Ability to interact effectively with others - Ability to ascend and descend ladders - Ability to walk on uneven surfaces - Ability and willingness to learn and apply new or changing job-related tasks as required Preferred Qualifications Two (2) year related experience High school diploma or GED Basic computer skills ### What We Offer You The estimated pay range for this role is currently $24.00 - $32.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process. What We Require Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam. Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.
