The design must consider requirements from various and often competing sources which include the Customer, the Integration Partner, Hardware and Logistics, all while applying Industry Standards and Dell Best Practices. The Rack Engineer will assume life cycle ownership of individual projects which include Requirements Discovery, Concept & Design, and Physical Build Sustaining. Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Rack Integration Engineer on our Services Integration team in Round Rock, TX. ## Responsibilities You will: Create detailed design of rack layouts based on customer’s unique project requirements, Data Center or COLO constraints, transport & delivery limitations, serviceability and esthetics. Perform a physical fit analysis and/or CAD modeling to detect potential interferences and prevent collisions during the physical build. Perform center of mass and tip angle calculations to ensure safe transport and handling during delivery. Collaborate with Project Manager, Sales Teams and Customer to ensure all hardware orders are accurately aligned with the intended and assumed functions as designed and expected by the Customer. Develop and maintain detailed documentation of rack configurations, including the build documents, hardware & cable BOMs, weight calculations, phase & load balancing. ## Qualifications Take the first step towards your dream career Every Dell Technologies team member brings something unique to the table. Here’s what we are looking for with this role: ### Essential Requirements Knowledge of design for manufacturing and serviceability for rack server. Ability to visualize and implement conceptual layouts to avoid potential conflicts and ensure maximum serviceability. Strong understanding of fundamental electrical principles related to power management in a data center environment. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of server hardware, networking equipment, PDU, UPS. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
