[Apply on DBS’s careers site →](https://dbs.wd3.myworkdayjobs.com/DBS_Careers/job/Beijing/Relationship-Manager--FI_WD85728) [OpenNash Jobs](https://jobs.opennash.com/) / [DBS](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/dbs/) / Relationship Manager, FI ## Job description ### Functional Title and Reporting Structure Functional Title Relationship Manager, Financial Institutions (FIG) ### Business Unit Institutional Banking Group (IBG) ### Corporate Rank Senior Associate (SA) to Assistant Vice President (AVP) ### Location FIG Department, Beijing, China Reporting To: Team Lead, Financial Institutions ### Key Accountabilities Portfolio Management: Drive and actively manage the assigned credit and client relationship portfolios within approved risk parameters. ### Revenue Generation Meet corporate business targets through strategic account structuring, transaction management, and proactive cross-selling initiatives. ### Product Collaboration Partner with Global Transaction Services (GTS) and Global Markets teams to expand client wallet share across institutional cash, trade, and treasury derivatives. ### Regulatory Governance Ensure complete adherence to internal risk management frameworks and strict compliance with local banking regulations. ### Job Duties & Responsibilities Relationship Cultivation: Build and maintain key client’s relationships across key Financial Institution clients to originate strategic banking transactions. ### Ecosystem Orchestration Serve as the primary, seamless intermediary between external clients, internal product groups, and backend operational support units. ### Credit Analysis Structure and compile complex credit proposals, write data-driven credit reports, and handle timely annual credit reviews. ### Market Origination Proactively pitch, market, and structure bespoke capital markets, trade finance, and treasury hedging solutions to institutional prospects. ### Risk & Compliance Management Execute robust first-line Customer Due Diligence (CDD), KYC protocols, and transaction monitoring to eliminate financial crime risks. ### Experience & Core Knowledge Industry Tenure Minimum of 3 years of progressive corporate or institutional relationship banking experience within the Financial Institutions sector. ### Sector Expertise Deep domain knowledge of Banks and Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI), with explicit focus on the securities, asset management, and public/private fund segments. ### Product Proficiency Strong familiarity with FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities), structured derivatives, transaction banking, and master documentation frameworks such as ISDA, GMRA, or GMSLA. ### Regulatory Acumen Up-to-date, fluent understanding of China’s financial market policies, macroeconomic regulations, and compliance standards. ### Technical Skills Elite corporate credit analysis, underwriting capabilities, and structured risk assessment expertise. ### Communication Fluency Exceptional verbal and written English and Mandarin presentation skills tailored for institutional client interactions. ### Education & Professional Qualifications Academic Baseline Recognised university degree in Economics, Finance, Banking, Accounting, or a related quantitative business discipline. ### Preferred Credential An MBA or equivalent professional certification (such as CFA or FRM) is highly advantageous. ### Core Competencies Result-Driven: Unyielding focus on hitting commercial metrics while maintaining quality parameters. ### Strategic Problem-Solving Ability to resolve complex technical hurdles for fast-paced institutional client segments. ### Collaboration & Teamwork Exceptional interpersonal skills designed to interface successfully across global matrixed networks. ### Resilience Under Pressure Proven adaptability in managing tight deadlines within high-stress financial environments. ### Technical Competencies Advanced portfolio credit risk evaluation and quantitative structuring skills.
