## Job description

Business Function Group Legal, Compliance & Secretariat (LCS) manages legal, regulatory and financial crime risks at DBS. Within LCS, this role applies data analytics to assess customer screening and real-time payment-message screening performance in all DBS operating countries, and recommends enhancements to detection logic, risk coverage and operational efficiency.

### Responsibilities

Strategic Screening Optimisation: Conduct analytical assessments and recommend enhancements to the detection logic and algorithms used in customer onboarding, ongoing customer monitoring and real-time payment-message screening in all DBS operating countries, including SWIFT messages. Balance alert efficiency with comprehensive risk coverage, supporting effective financial crime risk management and the protection of the bank’s reputation.

### Cross-Functional SME Collaboration

Partner with bank-wide stakeholders, including Compliance, Technology, Business Units and Operations, as the screening analytics SME. Present analytical findings, define screening requirements and recommendations, and provide evidence-based input to support stakeholder evaluation and approval of proposed changes.

### Advanced Screening Analytics

Conduct detailed data analysis of screening performance, alert drivers and emerging financial crime risks. Develop and backtest recommendations for detection rules, matching logic, thresholds and risk scoring; assess the impact on risk coverage, false positives and operational efficiency; and present evidence-based findings for stakeholder review and approval.

### Regulatory and Audit Support

Maintain clear analytical methodologies, testing evidence and decision rationale for proposed screening changes. Provide timely SME analysis and supporting evidence for regulatory, audit and assurance reviews, and identify screening control or data-quality gaps requiring remediation by the accountable teams.

### Requirements, Testing and Implementation Support

Translate analytical findings into clear screening requirements, acceptance criteria and test scenarios. Provide SME support during solution assessment, UAT and implementation validation, and analyse post-implementation screening performance. Technology and delivery teams remain accountable for solution design, development and deployment.

### Screening Subject Matter Expertise

Act as a subject matter expert in customer screening and real-time payment-message screening analytics, with expertise in SWIFT message formats, detection logic and control effectiveness. Provide evidence-based guidance on matching logic, rules, thresholds, risk scoring and tuning opportunities. Monitor relevant industry and analytical developments and share industry good practices.

### Performance Reporting & Stakeholder Insights

Deliver regular reports containing actionable insights on screening performance indicators, alert trends and emerging risks. Provide timely and accurate support for ad hoc analyses, reports and queries from relevant stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.

### Requirements

Experience & Foundation Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline. 8–10 years of progressive experience in financial services, consulting or a similar regulated industry, with demonstrated expertise in financial crime prevention and data analytics. Technical Acumen Proven proficiency in Python is required. Experience with big data technologies and data warehousing solutions is highly desirable.

Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as Tableau is desirable. Familiarity with specialised financial crime detection platforms. Analytical & Strategic Mindset Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with an investigative mindset and the ability to dissect complex issues and formulate evidence-based recommendations.

A commercially astute, data-driven approach to identifying and mitigating financial crime risks, with a strong understanding of screening performance, data quality and analytical limitations. Strong risk awareness, sound judgement and attention to detail, with the ability to critically evaluate data and statistics and identify inaccuracies or inconsistencies. Screening Domain Expertise Extensive experience performing financial crime analytics and providing SME support across initiatives involving Compliance, Technology, Operations and Business stakeholders.

Strong foundational knowledge of AML/CFT/KYC regulatory requirements and financial crime risk management. Hands-on experience in customer and/or payment-message screening analytics is preferred, including analysis of alerts, matching logic, rules, thresholds and tuning outcomes. Exposure to SWIFT payment-message screening is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to independently analyse large screening datasets, identify performance or control gaps, develop and backtest tuning recommendations, and clearly articulate the risk, operational and, where applicable, customer impacts for stakeholder decision-making.

Highly adaptable, with a keen interest in keeping abreast of evolving screening analytics methods, regulatory expectations and industry practices relevant to customer and payment-message screening. The role provides analytical recommendations and SME advice; recommendations are subject to review and approval by the relevant accountable stakeholders. Communication & Influence Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and analytical findings effectively to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.

Proven ability to manage stakeholders professionally, build strong rapport, foster cross-functional collaboration and influence outcomes across internal teams and external parties.
