In Group Technology, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels. Job Role We are seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) - UI Design & Component Engineering to lead the standardization and optimization of UI architecture across all regional banking applications. This role combines strategic UI/UX design with hands-on component engineering to eliminate code duplication, establish design governance, and optimize page performance on our global digital banking platform. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader, architecting a scalable, reusable component library and ensuring consistent user experiences across geographies, products, and channels, without compromising performance or accessibility. ### Responsibilities UI Design & Component Architecture: Lead and maintain a comprehensive, framework-agnostic design system for UI components, ensuring accessibility and adherence to design standards across all regions and products. ### Journey Standardization & Code Deduplication Standardize user journeys across APAC markets, design flexible architectures for regional variations within a unified codebase, and lead migration efforts to the standardized component library. ### UI Performance Optimization (20%) Define and optimize UI/page load performance through techniques like code splitting, image optimization, and build pipeline enhancements, ensuring sub-2-second load times. ### Theme Management & Styling System Design and implement a flexible, maintainable theming system supporting multi-brand themes, dark/light mode, and accessibility-compliant color palettes, synchronized with design tools. ### Required Qualifications Experience: 8+ years in UI design, component engineering, or product engineering; 5+ years leading/architecting large-scale design systems (multi-product/multi-region); 3+ years in a senior/leadership role. ### Technical Skills Deep expertise in React, Angular, modern web frameworks (Webpack, Vite), CSS/styling solutions, web performance optimization, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
