Interns must work in accordance with DTNA’s core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June. Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability. The Daimler Truck Specialty Vehicles Powertrain Engineering team is responsible for the integration and validation of engine and powertrain systems into a variety of vehicle platforms. This position will support the design, development, and launch of engine integrations and powertrain systems. We Take Care of Our Team Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $29 per hour. Apply engineering and CAD principles to create designs that are reliable, serviceable, energy efficient, and competitive. Support the design and development of engine integration through (EPA/CARB) solutions and engine development projects for Daimler Truck Specialty Vehicle products. Use NX and other design tools to create and maintain 3D part designs, detailed 2D part/ assembly drawings, GD&T, packaging studies, and installation diagrams Identify proper materials, tolerances, finishes, fasteners, and production methods for new designs. Develop, release, and maintain accurate Engineering documentation. - Ability to work with other design areas to reconcile conflicting design solutions into robust and cost effective solutions - Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture where everyone belongs ### Knowledge You Should Bring - Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within - 1 year of the position start date (May/June) - Must be enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program Passion for Automotive or Trucking - Ability to prioritize multiple tasks on hand - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Understanding of engineering upstream and downstream processes Customer orientated with the drive to develop customer-focused solutions. Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change.
