During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry. This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer of 2027. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: - Support day-to-day transportation and logistics operations for inbound and outbound shipments; assist with the planning, booking, tracking, and monitoring of road, air, ocean, and courier shipments. - Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, warehouses, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve transportation issues and support service delivery; monitor shipment progress and proactively communicate risks, delays, and recovery actions. - Support the preparation and validation of shipping documentation, customs documentation, commercial invoices, and transportation paperwork; assist with transportation planning during peak demand periods, plant shutdowns, and operational constraints. - Support freight cost control by identifying consolidation opportunities and alternative transportation solutions; participate in carrier performance reviews and support the measurement of service, cost, and compliance metrics. - Investigate shipment exceptions, delays, and service failures and support implementation of corrective actions; support continuous improvement projects focused on transportation efficiency, lead time reduction, service improvement, and cost savings. - Develop KPI reporting and logistics dashboards to improve operational visibility and decision-making; work collaboratively with Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Shipping, Warehousing, and Trade Compliance teams to support uninterrupted supply chain operations.
