You will support the team to configure (tune), integrate, test, and release software, electronic control units, and tools into an electronic system that controls the operation of Cummins’ products in a variety of customer applications. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organisation operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential! The requirements are to be onsite for 3 days per week, so you will need to be able to travel or relocate to the location on your own behalf. This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence in Summer 2027. In this role, you will make an impact by: - Validating calibrations for the Engine Control Unit (ECU). - Planning and carrying out verification and validation testing for developed calibrations and engine controllers. - Analyzing data from the field and end users, troubleshooting and resolving issues of any size, and supporting the wider team in doing so. - Preparing and presenting technical documentation for design reviews as part of product development. - Work in cross-functional teams to develop products and resolve issues. To be successful in this role you will need the following: - To be currently studying a STEM subject at degree level, with an allowance for a 12-month industry placement - A positive attitude towards learning new things, with the confidence to ask questions and the ability to learn quickly. - Ability to work well with others and build positive working relationships within the team. - Understand how engineering rules, guidelines and best practices are applied.
