This role is responsible for ensuring the effective maintenance of electrical equipment, minimizing downtime, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the implementation of automation and PLC-based solutions. Safety is our top priority. The successful candidate will lead by example, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. ### Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Reliability Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for electrical equipment. Support the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new machinery and automation systems. Monitor the performance and efficiency of electrical systems and implement corrective actions where required. Develop and improve maintenance plans to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime. Troubleshooting & Technical Support Diagnose electrical and automation failures using appropriate testing and diagnostic tools. Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement sustainable solutions. Modify and maintain PLC programs as required to support production and equipment performance. Provide advanced technical support to maintenance and production teams. Automation & Continuous Improvement Lead electrical and automation improvement projects across the plant. Design and implement modifications to electrical circuits and production line hardware, including PLCs, sensors, servomotors, and related equipment. Drive preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Performance & Cost Management Monitor production line performance and support optimization through automation improvements. Ensure all technical documentation, electrical drawings, and maintenance records remain accurate and up to date. Manage and document electrical and automation projects. Monitor maintenance expenditures and ensure efficient use of resources and repair budgets. People Leadership Lead, coach, and develop a team of electricians. Effectively delegate tasks and monitor execution and performance. Organize technical training and skills development activities to support modern maintenance practices. Foster strong teamwork, communication, and accountability within the department. Safety & Compliance Ensure full compliance with all HSE and electrical safety requirements. Oversee electrical safety inspections, testing activities, and regulatory compliance. Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement of safety standards. ### Qualifications & Experience Required Secondary School or University degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical field. Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in electrical maintenance, automation, or industrial manufacturing. Electrical qualification equivalent to §22 – Independent Electrician (according to applicable legislation). Experience with PLC systems and industrial automation technologies. Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and update electrical documentation and technical drawings. Team leadership and task delegation experience. Good computer literacy. Continuous improvement mindset. Personal Competencies Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to influence and collaborate across departments. Proactive and results-oriented approach. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
