We are changing the world with: Trusted products that accelerate drug discovery, development, and delivery to save lives Damage-resistant cover glass to enhance the devices that keep us connected Optical fiber, wireless technologies, and connectivity solutions to carry information and ideas at the speed of light Precision glass for advanced displays to deliver richer experiences Auto glass and ceramics to drive cleaner, safer, and smarter transportation Solar polysilicon, wafers, and innovative photovoltaic modules, enabling low-cost solar energy solutions ### Role Purpose Work for process development and readiness for the SCS Receiving Team across optical cable and mechanical components assembly and future assigned processes. - Work with project teams to take over complete process understanding, technical documentation, process controls, and operating knowledge. - Work process qualification, stabilization, capability improvement, and transition from pilot production to stable manufacturing. - Work for coupling process flow, critical parameters, operating windows, materials, product requirements, and key technical risks. - Work with cross function team to understand product requirements and process requirements, for example, cycle time, process requirement for each station, process qualification requirements and define process development to fulfill critical customer requirement. - Work with cross function team for continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, cost, yield, throughput, and cycle time. - Ensure technical learning and intellectual property developed through projects are documented and managed according to company requirements. ### Key Responsibilities Working in receiving-team process engineering activities for project transfer, pilot production, process qualification, ramp-up, and transition to stable manufacturing. Working with project teams to take over optical cable assembly and other mechanical components processes, including process flow, product requirements, critical parameters, operating windows, risks, and control methods. Participate in product and process readiness reviews, engineering trials, FAT/SAT activities, equipment qualification, process certification, and production-release decisions. Be responsible for process readiness for pilot and mass production and ensure safety, quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and manufacturability requirements are addressed. Establish and maintain process specifications, SOPs, work instructions, setup standards, troubleshooting guides, process control plans, and engineering records. Working with cross function team and oversea team for process development, DOE, data analysis, parameter optimization, material evaluation, and technical issue closure for optical cable assembly and future products. Develop process capability and control strategies, including critical process parameters, SPC where appropriate, reaction plans, change control, and performance monitoring. Continuously monitor process performance and provide early warning of deviations from approved standards. Experiences/Education - Required - Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or a related technical field. - 2+ years process engineering or other related manufacturing engineering area including process, material, control, mechanical and other related knowledge in cable assembly or optic communication industrial experiences. - Prefer to mechanical design ability. ### Required Skills - Understand the major process, equipment, environmental, health, and safety risks associated with assigned products and manufacturing processes. - Follow all company EHS rules, policies, procedures, SOPs, and other requirements, and immediately escalate significant process, product, equipment, or safety risks. - Experiences/Education - Desired - Process transfer, qualification, stabilization, and industrialization experience Detailed technical understanding of MLA, MMC, or comparable manufacturing processes SPC, DOE, PFMEA, control plans, DMAIC, and structured problem solving - Process capability, yield, quality, cost, and productivity improvement Engineering change control, ECN screening, BOMs, drawings, and manufacturing documentation Capacity modeling, line balancing, bottleneck analysis, and scale-up Working knowledge of ERP, PLM, and manufacturing data systems Cross-functional project execution and technical communication in Mandarin and English - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering data-analysis tools - Track record of delivering measurable manufacturing results Corning is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and considers requests for reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable laws. - Individuals with disabilities or sincerely held religious beliefs may request reasonable accommodations to participate in the application or interview process, perform essential job functions, or access other benefits and privileges of employment.
