Dodge, IA- Life Sciences ## Job description ### About the role The Validation Maintenance Technician willsupport thermal mapping and validation activities for autoclaves andtemperature controlled environments within a regulated pharmaceuticalmanufacturing environment. This role requires hands-on technical expertise,strong documentation skills, and the ability to work independently whilecollaborating with cross-functional teams. The technician will be responsiblefor executing validation protocols, calibrating equipment, and ensuringcompliance with regulatory standards. This is a fully onsite role Monday-Friday in FtDodge, IA. ### What you’ll do Participate in weekly planning meetings toreview upcoming assignments. Evaluate autoclave systems to understandoperational criteria, utilities, and sanitary connections. Generate and modify validation protocolsspecific to autoclave and cycle parameters. Set up and execute validation tasks usingappropriate instrumentation and software. Calibrate sensors and verify performance using built-insoftware and reference tools. Collaborate with Process Engineers andProduction personnel to design validation load patterns. Install thermocouple wires and biologicalindicators (Spore Strips/Ampoules) in load configurations. Execute thermal mapping studies and retrievebiological samples for testing. Document all validation activities and findingsin real-time during protocol execution. Analyze thermal mapping data and generatequalification and summary reports. Investigate deviations, perform root causeanalysis, and implement corrective actions. Repeat validation cycles as required based onload pattern frequency and protocol scope. ### What you’ll need Proficiency in mechanical expertise. Working knowledge of validation principles andpractices in a regulated manufacturing environment. Familiarity with autoclave operation,utilities, automation, and cycle load handling. Understanding of USDA and 9CFR regulatoryrequirements. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Experience implementing corrective andpreventive actions (CAPA). High attention to detail in documentation andexecution of validation activities. Excellent verbal and written communicationskills. Ability to work collaboratively acrossdepartments. Ability to lift up to 40lbs. Commitment to safety protocols and awareness ofhazards (e.g., high-pressure steam, enclosed spaces). ### Preferred Qualifications Flexibility to work irregular hours, includingevenings, weekends, and holidays. Availability for frequent travel, sometimes on shortnotice. Adaptability to changing scopes of work andfluctuating activity volumes. ### Additional Requirements Completion of Health, Safety, and Environmental(HSE) training. Basic gowning training for access to controlledproduction areas.
