Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. ### Job Title Maintenance Technician (multiskilled) ### Salary £46,183.03 (Salary Includes shift allowance based on 4 weeks rotations) ### Contract Permanent - rotating 3 shifts Shift Pattern: 4 Crew, 3 Shifts per week ( days/nights rotation, Mon - Sat) 16 Rest Days during 4-week shift cycle (57%) ### Hours Full Time - 36.50 (Additional paid overtime available) ### Location Peterlee, County Durham About Caterpillar Peterlee Caterpillar Peterlee is the worldwide source of Cat® Articulated Trucks. The facility's manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology, and a state-of-the-art paint plant. Key Tasks and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Completing planned preventative and reactive breakdown maintenance. Completing Dynamic Risk Assessments along with adhering to the company’s Health and Safety policy. Utilising the Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP PM, Agility etc) to review previous breakdown data and record actions taken on breakdown recoveries Diagnosing PLC concerns and implementing program changes Complete training and further learning as required Breakdown root cause identification and countermeasure implementation Responsible for maintenance on the following equipment: Automated Metal Cutting Equipment including Laser and Plasma Automated Paint Plant Robotic Welding Systems Welding equipment Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems Electronic Torque equipment Automated Moving Lines/AGVs Hydraulic Presses Overhead and Semi Goliath Cranes What skills/experience you will have: Safety Focus - Demonstrates a commitment to working safely, following procedures, identifying potential hazards, and contributing to a safe work environment. ### Teamwork & Collaboration - Works effectively with others, communicates respectfully, supports team goals, and contributes to a positive and productive work environment. ### Functional Expertise & Continuous Learning - Learns and applies job-related knowledge, follows established processes, solves routine work challenges, and adapts to new tools, equipment, and procedures. ### Mechanical Aptitude & Problem Solving - Demonstrates the ability to understand equipment, troubleshoot issues, interpret technical information, and apply mechanical reasoning to complete work safely and effectively. A recognised apprenticeship in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline, an ONC, BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance or Engineering equivalent qualification Experience with PLCs Maintenance and fault-finding experience (Mechanical and Electrical) in a manufacturing environment. - An interest in problem solving and passion to learn Highly motivated with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement - Strong communication skills - Ability to work as part of a team and be comfortable to work independently Top candidates will also have: NEBOSH/IOSH Qualification or experience and evidence of safety improvement activities NB. - The panel cannot make assumptions when shortlisting therefore please demonstrate your qualifications and experience on your CV relevant to the criteria outlined.
