Role Definition To serve as an individual contributor on Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) projects and assignments that support and enhance Caterpillar facility performance and compliance. ### Responsibilities - Performs inspections and tests planned to monitor specific EHS issues, regulations and company practices. - Assists in training employees on EHS guidelines, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to EHS. - Making and maintaining necessary EHS records according to established guidelines. - Contributes to the development of EHS policies and procedures. ### Degree required Skill Descriptors Process Management Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes. ### Accuracy and Attention to Detail Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision. ### Effective Communications Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. ### Influencing Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization. ### Initiative Being proactive and committing to action on self-identified job responsibilities and challenges; ability to seek out work and the drive to accomplish goals. ### Managing Multiple Priorities Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation. ### Problem Solving Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. ### Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
