[Apply on Bayer ’s careers site →](https://jobs.bayer.com/job/ShangHai-Director-Scientific-Licensing-Shan/1446301633/) [OpenNash Jobs](https://jobs.opennash.com/) / [Bayer ](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/bayer/) / Director Scientific Licensing ## Job description Director Scientific Licensing ### WHO YOU ARE - Develop a comprehensive, constantly up-to-date, landscape analysis of the academic, pre-seed, seed & biotech stage opportunities in China - Act as a door opener and ambassador for Bayer PH and especially BD&L PH by initiating first contacts in China Together with CtC CN team, act as interface and foster relationships with external stakeholders including biotech, biopharma and start-up entrepreneurs to support in-licensing/collaboration opportunities to enrich PH pipeline both for China and for global - Foster relationships leading to meaningful interactions with relevant stakeholders in China Proactively align and closely work together with global Oncology BD team for strategic direction (strategy and search mandate), in-depth scientific exchange, initial evaluation and potentially deal making according to established governance model (1st Mandate, NBO Approval, BO Approval) Team up with local/regional External Activation/Event Management to develop a winning engagement strategy based on deep insights into the local/regional partnering landscape Interconnect with Scientific Licensing team members in global Oncology BD, Co.Lab team or other CtC Hubs to improve operational excellence and work towards globally agnostic and regionally specialized approaches Key Working Relations: Internal: Head of CtC Hub CN Co.Lab CN Global Oncology BD Team External Activation/ Event Managers Region and global R&D teams PH BD&L & OI function External Activation & Identity Management team LEAPS External: Contacts at academic, pre-seed or seed stage opportunities YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBITLIES University degree in a scientific discipline (biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, protein science, cell biology, gene technology, chemistry) PhD or MD preferred At least - 15 years of working experience, preferably in the PH industry Deep understanding of the Oncology landscape (targets, modalities, market dynamics), emerging science, drug discovery, pharmaceutical R&D, and Oncology drug development (clinical endpoints, standards of care).
