[Apply on Avery Dennison’s careers site →](https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/AveryDennison/744000152984538-finishing-operator-packer-core-cutter-material-handler-3rd-shift-) [OpenNash Jobs](https://jobs.opennash.com/) / [Avery Dennison](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/avery-dennison/) / Finishing Operator Packer/ Core Cutter/ Material Handler - 3rd Shift ## Job description This role will be on 3rd shift, 10PM - 6AM M-F. ### Job Responsibilities - Inspect general appearance of finished product - Keep area supplied with necessary packaging materials - Prepare cores for machine operators - Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity Perform 5S duties and audits - Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed - Participate in group problem-solving teams and continuous improvement activities - Sort, label, and package finished goods for shipment per customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices - Inspect general appearance of finished product - Keep area supplied with necessary packaging materials - Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate shift/department personnel to ensure effective operations - Track multiple orders being packed at one time. - Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity - Maintain a clean, safe work area Perform 5S duties and audits - Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed - Perform all other duties assigned by Supervisor - Print slitting diagrams Cut 3" and 6" Cores for all Slitters Retrieve, Replenish & Deliver Core Check Cores for Accuracy, Quality of Cuts & Adequate Quantity for Productions Dump blue bins at the end of the shift and when necessary Dump recyclables daily Perform Forklift Inspection Trim Compactor Controls & Operational Procedures Move material to/from raw, WIP, Finishing, Shipping, Receiving and manufacturing areas. Complete appropriate transactions to document the movement of material within the Inventory Management System. ### Support inventory accuracy Complete warehouse and departmental cycle counts and correct discrepancies. Help manage winding drum and rack inventories. ### Raw/Finishing warehouse Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets and other consumable supplies to/from production areas, as required. Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeeping. Perform all assignments, duties and tasks in a safe manner following standard procedures and practices. Encourage others to do so. Correct and/or report all unsafe conditions immediately. Maintain a safe, clean work area. ## Qualifications ### Qualifications and Education High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience. Previous manufacturing experience preferred You will regard safety as a core value; serve as a role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies and procedures. You will need to have strong service and quality focus; address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand root causes, then communicate / education team in a timely manner. You will need to be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests.
