[Apply on Archer Daniels Midland’s careers site →](https://sjobs.brassring.com/TGnewUI/Search/home/HomeWithPreLoad?partnerid=25416&siteid=5998&PageType=JobDetails&jobid=3378087) [OpenNash Jobs](https://jobs.opennash.com/) / [Archer Daniels Midland](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/archer-daniels-midland/) / Production Specialist ## Job description Production Specialist - Marshall, MN ### Job Summary Monitors and controls process equipment while making proper adjustments to ensure quality and quantity of products within specified limits. ### Essential Job Functions - Operate and monitor DCS system to control process in assigned department area and make process adjustments as required to achieve desired results. - Operate and monitor systems through sample collections and tests to determine changes that should be made to maintain the quality of products and processes. - Maintain records of required documentation for hourly test results of in-process product. - Maintain all equipment of the area and may perform routine preventive maintenance duties on such equipment. - Maintain a clean process area. - Utilize technical expertise to trouble-shoot and eliminate process-related problems. - Provide assurance, monitoring, or reporting of environmental issues. - Provide training to less experienced department employees on subjects such as process operations, safety, and company policies and procedures. - Contribute to the process of creating and writing SOP’s and Safety Plans. - Reset electrical panels to restart equipment in a safe and timely manner in accordance with authorized guidelines. - Understand lock-out/tag-out/try-out procedures and confined space procedures and monitors compliance regularly, reporting safety discrepancies in a timely manner. - Perform duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment, and successfully completes all safety certification requirements. - May perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned. ### Job Requirements - High School Diploma or GED (preferred) - Complete all required safety training also follow and display knowledge of all safety procedures. - Communicate effectively through speech and writing along with other mediums such as email. - Have general understanding of how to use a computer and email. - Must stay motivated and show initiative to complete tasks under limited supervision. - Able to meet physical requirements and perform duties in working conditions listed below. ### Working Conditions - Rotating 4 days on 4 days off - Work overtime as necessary, including some weekends - Duties performed inside and outside - May be exposed to extreme temperatures and humid conditions - Atmosphere exposure to: fumes, odors, dust, gas, and poor ventilation ### Hazards exposure - mechanical, electrical, and chemical - Due to wide variety of tasks, this position may be exposed to any environmental condition ### Protective Clothing Required - Hardhat, earplugs, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and rain suits ### Physical Requirements - Occasionally move up to 50 lbs.; frequently move up to 35 lbs. - Transport chemicals to equipment from storage. - Position self to conduct work at various heights and positions. - Repetitive use of feet through operating pedals on company vehicle, forklift, - Ascend/descend from various levels. - Repetitive use of hands through manipulation of levers in heavy equipment.
