[Apply on Archer Daniels Midland’s careers site →](https://sjobs.brassring.com/TGnewUI/Search/home/HomeWithPreLoad?partnerid=25416&siteid=5998&PageType=JobDetails&jobid=3394765) [OpenNash Jobs](https://jobs.opennash.com/) / [Archer Daniels Midland](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/archer-daniels-midland/) / Maintenance 1 - Colby, WI ## Job description Maintenance 1 - Colby, WI ### General Requirements - Work cooperatively in a team environment and accept and follow directions. - Follow time and attendance guidelines in accordance with the employee handbook. - Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. - Experienced in operating a variety of equipment and tools - Able to work well with minimal supervision - Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures - Able to stand for long periods and climb stairs regularly throughout shift. - Physically capable of lifting 75 pounds unassisted - Ability to regularly lift and / or carry up to 55 pounds individually or up to 100 pounds with assistance. - Ability to squat and bend frequently while lifting up to 55 pounds during shift. - Tolerant of seasonally very warm temperatures. - Basic computer knowledge and skills. ### Shift Information 2 openings are on 1 st shift, hours are 5am – 1pm with rotation on one person stays until end of production every day, which could be as late as 4pm if that is their late day. 1 opening is on 2 nd shift, hours are 2pm – 10pm, but no hard stop if maintenance issues could have to stay later. $5000 REFERRAL BONUS ### Quality Control Requirements - Knowledge of and ability to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). - Complete understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and its importance. - Follow and monitor to assure all Safe Quality Food (SQF) guidelines are implemented and followed. - Report any suspicious activity related to food defense. ### Note Required to report food safety problems or concerns immediately to a person with authority to initiate action as indicated on the organizational chart. ### Safety Requirements - Be aware of and follow up to date OSHA regulations that apply to the tasks in your job. - Practice safe lifting techniques, bending and lifting with your legs not your back. - Pivot with your feet avoiding twisting at the waist. - Be aware of your surroundings, watching for forklift traffic and trip hazards such as pallets or cords. - Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job you are doing. - Maintain proper guards and safety devices when working with machinery and on catwalks. - Never operate equipment for which you have not been properly trained or certified for. ### Education/Certifications - High school diploma/GED required - Electromechanical Degree preferred ### Member of following Teams - Maintenance ### Job Responsibilities - Troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery and production equipment - Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems - Troubleshoot motors, drives, relays, contactors, sensors, switches, solenoids, and industrial control circuits - Repair and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems - Perform mechanical repairs involving bearings, shafts, gearboxes, chains, belts, pumps, and related components - Diagnose equipment failures and determine the actual root cause rather than simply replacing parts - Perform preventive maintenance where appropriate - Help identify practical improvements that increase equipment reliability, productivity, and safety - Assist in equipment set-up and reassembly. - Complete work order and preventive maintenance reports. Ensure all work is properly documented. - Respond quickly in the event of an emergency. Notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol. - Support production and clean-up with breakdowns or repairs. - Perform machine set ups for the next incoming shift. - Perform other tasks as assigned by management. - Respond to reports of suspicious activity related to food defense.
