The plant operates 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The lab covers all shifts necessary to operate the facility. This position reports to the Plant Manager. ### Essential Job Functions - Provides leadership, support, and guidance to ensure that Food Safety/Quality requirements are met. - Manages, plans, implements, and continuously improves the Food Safety/Quality divisional programs. - Enforce Quality goals and KPIs, Food Safety/Quality, maintain Food Safety plan, and supports Operations for continuous improvement. - Ensure the processes and systems are adequate to implement, achieve, and maintain 3rd party certifications (i.e., GMP+, SQF, etc.) and FDA compliance (21 CFR 507 and/or 21 CFR 117). - Oversee usage of and provide support for information technology systems (i.e., Policy Tech, APeCS, GEMINI, etc.) - Manages the Food Safety/Quality Team - Maintenance and maintaining of laboratory equipment - Work and communicate with the Plant Manager (dotted line reporting) and Superintendent on any quality problems, or issues that arise. - Excellent communication, problem solving, and good decision making skills are required. - The ability to provide motivation to direct reports, and demonstrate leadership qualities to all plant personnel is needed. ### Job Qualifications - Preferred 4 year degree or equivalent 7 year Food Safety experience in a Food manufacturing and laboratory environment. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.
