More information on the job vacancy you have selected is available below, however if you have any additional questions please contact the HR Department on 01227 773200 or email HR@amphenol.co.uk: The Vacancy: Purpose of the role Setting and operating CNC sliding head lathes to manufacture components from raw material (bar stock) for our internal assembly flow lines to the highest quality and on time. This role operates on a two-week rotating shift pattern, covering both morning and evening shifts. Duties and responsibilities - Setting and operating CNC sliding head lathes to produce medium to large size batches of work in a timely manner. - Inspecting work to Engineering drawings using various measuring equipment and reporting any quality defects to the machine shop supervisor. - Daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on machines, including maintaining good housekeeping standards and reporting any issues promptly to supervision. - Optimising efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus tool life monitoring. - Deburring, cleaning, final inspection and completion of all traceability documentation - Adhering to Health and Safety procedures. - Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested. ### Person Specification Essential Qualities Qualifications - GCSE, or equivalent, in English and Maths Grade C or above or relevant experience. ### Technical Knowledge - A knowledge of operating CNC machine tools. - Experience of CNC lathes with a minimum of 4 axis. - Experience of reading and editing Fanuc based programs. - Competent in reading and understanding engineering drawings and be able to inspect their work using a range of measurement equipment to ensure the product is correct to drawing. ### Skills and Competencies - Hardworking with the ability to stay focused at all times. - Very high attention to detail and accuracy. - Ability to perform repetitive tasks over long periods of time. - Safety conscious. - Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently. - Good communication skills. - Willing to learn new skills. - Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality.
