[Apply on Ametek’s careers site →](https://jobs.ametek.com/job/Peschiera-Borromeo-Field-Service-Engineer-%28Italy%29-Lomb-20068/1420912800/) [OpenNash Jobs](https://jobs.opennash.com/) / [Ametek](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/ametek/) / Field Service Engineer (Italy) ## Job description Due to continued growth within the global service team, we have an exciting vacancy for a field service engineer in North Italy Role and Responsibilities: - Work on a stand-alone basis, maintain team spirit and share knowledge with colleagues Having full responsibility, within a territory, to deliver world class service to our customers - Install, maintain, and use expert troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues on a variety of roundness and surface finish measuring instruments - Provide remote call pre-qualification and attempt remote fix wherever possible Be the focal point for customer issues and technical enquiries - Document and report technical issues where necessary - Provide training as required to customers and local distributors Look for opportunities and report wherever possible Preferred Skills: Have a good grounding in mechanical/ electronic or Multi-Disciplined Engineering - Ability to read, interpret and analyse schematics, assembly drawings and wiring diagrams Ideally, previous experience of working in a technical customer facing role however, recent graduates are welcome to apply Interact with and provide feedback to internal stakeholders including technical support teams, manufacturing, and R&D Build trust relationships with our customers Have good computer skills including Microsoft Office Hold a valid & clean driving license Can work alone while representing Taylor Hobson at customer sites Be prepared to work flexible hours when required Be prepared to assist colleagues in other regions of the world when required High energy level with ability to take initiative. Experience within a matrix management environment Teamwork oriented with collaborative style, pragmatic, multitasking, flexible. Computer fluent, with specific attention to e-mail and Microsoft Office product skills; CRM and Service tools. Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs. Good communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to interact effectively. Follow set procedures but can identify when change is required Qualifications and Educational Requirements: Mechanical/ electrical or electronic service expert Proven experience in high demand B2B customer service. ### Based in the following regions Lombardia, Piemonte or Emilia Romagna English: good communication skills, Written and spoken.
