The role supports customer delivery requirements through effective machine operation, inspection and continuous improvement activities. ### Key Responsibilities Operate CNC machining lathes and associated equipment. Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions. Perform first-off and in-process inspections. Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges. Record production and quality data accurately. Report machine, tooling or quality issues promptly. Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area. Support continuous improvement initiatives. Follow company quality, health and safety procedures. ### Requirements for Consideration Essential Experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read engineering drawings. Knowledge of precision measurement techniques. Understanding of health and safety requirements. Good attention to detail. Ability to work effectively within a team. Desirable CNC setting experience. Fanuc control knowledge. Experience of continuous improvement activities. Apprenticeship or engineering qualification. Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs. ### Experience/Qualifications Previous CNC machining experience preferred. Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification desirable.
