We’re dedicated to your growth, offering comprehensive training and development programs tailored to enhance your skills and deepen your understanding of the electric utility industry. ### Job Description What You'll Do: As a Project Management Intern, you may: Assist project managers with planning, organizing, and coordinating project activities. Support the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and status reports. Participate in project team meetings and document action items and key decisions. Track project milestones, deliverables, risks, and issues. Prepare presentations, dashboards, reports, and other project documentation. Assist in collecting and analyzing project data to support informed business decisions. Support communication among project team members, business partners, vendors, and stakeholders. Gain exposure to project management methodologies, tools, and best practices. Assist with procurement, contract, scheduling, or project controls activities. Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies. Learn and promote AEP's commitment to safety and operational excellence. Develop leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through project assignments and mentorship opportunities. ### What We're Looking For Education requirements are listed below: Required: Currently pursuing an associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Must have completed at least your freshman year. Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2029 Must be at least 18 years old. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment. This position is not eligible for sponsorship, OPT, or CPT. Preferred Minimum 3.0 GPA. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Interest in project management, utility operations, business processes, construction, technology, or energy infrastructure. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Demonstrated leadership through academic, extracurricular, or work experiences. (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
