## Job description

Join the Artifact Generation team to revolutionize how creative content is delivered across Amazon Photos. As a Software Development Engineer II, you'll work on building a unified platform that powers engaging photo memory experiences—including animated stories, live photos, collages, and AI-generated content. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your full-stack engineering talents to create seamless experiences across iOS, Android, Web, and Alexa devices.

Your creative problem-solving skills will directly impact millions of users as you help develop scalable architectures for rapid feature deployment. With a focus on generative AI technologies and frontend development, you'll collaborate with talented engineers to ensure cross-device consistency while building innovative solutions that delight customers. If you're passionate about creating technologies that transform how people experience their memories, this position offers the perfect blend of technical challenge and creative fulfillment.

### Key job responsibilities

- Design and implement features for our unified platform that delivers photo memory experiences across multiple devices and formats

- Write clean, maintainable code following Amazon's Code Bar standards while making appropriate trade-offs between maintainability and efficiency

- Collaborate with peers throughout the full software development lifecycle, from scoping and design through testing, documentation, and deployment

- Actively participate in operational support for the team, identifying and resolving root causes of issues

- Work independently with regular checkpoints to deliver software components that enhance our platform's capabilities in areas including generative AI and frontend technologies

### A day in the life

Your day begins with a quick team stand-up to align on priorities and address any blockers. You might spend the morning debugging a rendering issue affecting animated stories on iOS devices, collaborating with UX designers to ensure visual consistency. After lunch, you'll work on implementing new features for the unified platform, perhaps integrating a new AI-powered content generation capability or optimizing performance across devices.

### About the team

We create animated stories, live photos, collages, and AI-generated content that help customers preserve and enjoy their memories. Our approach emphasizes one platform for many experiences, ensuring cross-device consistency across iOS, Android, Web, and Alexa devices.
