Software Engineering Managers have not only the technical expertise to take on and provide technical leadership to major projects, but also manage a team of Engineers. You not only optimize your own code but make sure Engineers are able to optimize theirs. As a Software Engineering Manager you manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team. Teams work all across the company, in areas such as information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, data compression, user interface design; the list goes on and is growing every day. Operating with scale and speed, our exceptional software engineers are just getting started -- and as a manager, you guide the way. With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead software engineers developing embedded software, diagnostic tests, and tools to validate custom SoCs, servers, and SmartNICs. You will optimize system health, test performance, and solve reliability problems for millions of machines across global data centers. You will drive hardware quality decisions on designs, working on projects that push technology limits. Your team will support critical infrastructure for machine learning, search, security, and video processing, giving you an unmatched opportunity to make a massive, global impact. ## At a glance - Posted by the employer: Not stated - First seen by OpenNash: Oct 23, 2026 - Last checked: Oct 30, 2026 - Listed for: 7 days - Location: Sunnyvale, CA, USA[Apply on Alphabet’s careers site →](https://www.google.com/about/careers/applications/jobs/results/104892128907141830-software-engineer-manager-ii-embedded-systemsfirmware) ## Hiring at Alphabet - Open jobs: 3,591 - New in the last 7 days: After two weekly collections - Tracked since: Aug 20, 2026 [All Alphabet jobs](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/) · [Weekly hiring report](/reports/hiring/) ## More jobs at Alphabet ### [AI and Infrastructure Software Engineer, Virtualization](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/fff7ad38045a0d84a9a5/) Sunnyvale, CA, USA ### [Firestore Software Engineering Manager](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/0baa2504e50629d44f7c/) Sunnyvale, CA, USA ### [GPU System Software Engineer](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/08ef38825b03d241e606/) Sunnyvale, CA, USA ### [Hardware/Software Co-Design Engineer, Inference](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/c656cc1479703aa0c31e/) Sunnyvale, CA, USA ### [Hardware/Software Codesign and Performance Engineer, Inference](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/39c2e7392988f368f731/) Sunnyvale, CA, USA ## Similar jobs at other companies ### [Embedded Systems Software Engineer](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/qualcomm/jobs/737160c18e5a45d68c52/) Qualcomm · San Diego, California, United States of America ### [Embedded Software Engineer, Navigation and Sensor Systems (Hybrid & Relocation Available)](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/bae-systems/jobs/0e601b11bbcc7a4bdcbb/) BAE Systems · Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States ### [Senior Embedded Software Engineer, Navigation and Sensor Systems (Hybrid & Relocation Available)](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/bae-systems/jobs/d239987f78f9674a91c1/) BAE Systems · Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States ### [Embedded Integration & Test Systems Engineer Sr](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/lockheed-martin/jobs/20dc4d91442166b53788/) Lockheed Martin · Littleton, CO ### [Embedded Systems Integration and Test Engineer](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/lockheed-martin/jobs/e75b00c6b47c90fd3c2c/) Lockheed Martin · Littleton, CO OpenNash lists jobs from employers’ own careers sites and does not handle applications.
