[Apply on Alphabet’s careers site →](https://www.google.com/about/careers/applications/jobs/results/131448689087390406-program-manager-data-center-capital-improvements-construction) [OpenNash Jobs](https://jobs.opennash.com/) / [Alphabet](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/) / Program Manager, Data Center Capital Improvements Construction ## Job description ### Minimum qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience in program or project management. 2 years of experience working with technical teams on data center or mission-critical facility construction projects. 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical systems, mechanical systems, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, or networking/fiber. ### Preferred qualifications 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. 2 years of experience with mission-critical equipment/environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems). Experience managing vendor relationships and a strong understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast-track design-build processes. Knowledge of large-scale facility electrical and mechanical systems and strong communication, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to gather requirements, organize resources, prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and achieve objectives within defined goals. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines. The data center capital improvements portfolio ranging from hundreds of thousands to hundreds of millions across multiple concurrent projects. Initiatives range from targeted network installations to complex critical infrastructure retrofits. Operating with a zero-disruption mandate, the role advances strategic business priorities, mitigates operational risk, and ensures reliability, safety, and sustainability across campus assets. As a Data Center Program Manager, you hold full ownership and accountability for the planning, execution, governance, and delivery of the capital improvements portfolio across your sites. Directing key interfaces between building operations and the capital improvements Program Management Office (PMO), you will drive vendor performance, quality, and productivity, align cross-functional teams, and maintain high standards of operational excellence.
