Software Engineering Managers have not only the technical expertise to take on and provide technical leadership to major projects, but also manage a team of Engineers. You not only optimize your own code but make sure Engineers are able to optimize theirs. As a Software Engineering Manager you manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team. Teams work all across the company, in areas such as information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, data compression, user interface design; the list goes on and is growing every day. Operating with scale and speed, our exceptional software engineers are just getting started -- and as a manager, you guide the way. With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally. The Performance team is responsible for making sure the YouTube App is fast, smooth, and reliable. We work on App health metrics like latency, jank, and crashes. We implement regression detection, best practices, and monitoring. We scale teams with tooling. We look for systemic problems that exist and design architectural solutions to solve them. Saving fractions of a second from a single operation can avoid a human lifetime of waiting per day at YouTube’s scale. At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun — and we do it all together. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. ### US $262000 - $364000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits Learn more about benefits at Google. ## At a glance - Posted by the employer: Not stated - First seen by OpenNash: Oct 13, 2026 - Last checked: Oct 23, 2026 - Listed for: 10 days - Location: San Bruno, CA, USA[Apply on Alphabet’s careers site →](https://www.google.com/about/careers/applications/jobs/results/119152741032305350-senior-software-engineer-manager-youtube-main-app-mobile) ## More jobs at Alphabet ### [Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure, YouTube](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/f4198ef6058e98375e05/) San Bruno, CA, USA ### [Senior Software Engineer, Mobile (iOS), YouTube](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/486ac108a04f44a27545/) San Bruno, CA, USA ### [Software Engineer III, Mobile (Android), YouTube](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/e7fdddb2af4cde3247da/) San Bruno, CA, USA ### [Software Engineer Manager, Shorts Creation Infra, YouTube](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/0c00e5bb04f261484880/) San Bruno, CA, USA ### [Staff Applied ML Software Engineer, Recommendations, YouTube](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/e2d3dac0294d5f0f3bdb/) San Bruno, CA, USA ## Similar jobs at other companies ### [Retail Pharmacist I Main Campus](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/unitedhealth-group/jobs/00239dfc368e20cf9cbd/) UnitedHealth Group · Houston, Texas ### [Specialty Pharmacist- Main Campus -Kelsey Seybold](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/unitedhealth-group/jobs/c7e809ef357c53b39528/) UnitedHealth Group · Houston, Texas ### [Main Banker](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/boyd-gaming/jobs/f04f3a5d07509a8143fa/) Boyd Gaming · Opelousas, United States ### [Branch Manager - Logan Main - Logan, WV](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/jpmorganchase/jobs/6a2ab323649d7e5b0b23/) JPMorganChase · Logan, WV, United States ### [Relationship Banker - Encino Main - Encino, CA](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/jpmorganchase/jobs/f29b48d8a79e9d7c97ce/) JPMorganChase · Encino, CA, United States OpenNash lists jobs from employers’ own careers sites and does not handle applications.
