Software Engineering Managers have not only the technical expertise to take on and provide technical leadership to major projects, but also manage a team of Engineers. You not only optimize your own code but make sure Engineers are able to optimize theirs. As a Software Engineering Manager you manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team. Teams work all across the company, in areas such as information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, data compression, user interface design; the list goes on and is growing every day. Operating with scale and speed, our exceptional software engineers are just getting started -- and as a manager, you guide the way. With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally. Our video editing backend team is brand new, as we are starting to leverage the power of Gemini in the video space. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the team from scratch and work alongside local cross-functional experts to deliver on the mission to use the power of AI to craft the stories of users' lives. With video now comprising a major share of the corpus, we have a huge opportunity to make video storytelling a powerful tool for the users to express themselves and preserve their life moments forever. ## At a glance - Posted by the employer: Not stated - First seen by OpenNash: Oct 23, 2026 - Last checked: Oct 23, 2026 - Listed for: Under a day - Location: Sydney NSW, Australia[Apply on Alphabet’s careers site →](https://www.google.com/about/careers/applications/jobs/results/121894177855152838-engineering-manager-technical-lead-google-photos) ## More jobs at Alphabet ### [AI Outcome Customer Engineer, Google Cloud](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/ef3b495de01b9c9b52da/) Sydney NSW, Australia ### [Engineering Manager, Google Photos Growth](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/2cf45cee0a44f857f9fd/) Sydney NSW, Australia ### [Engineering Manager, Site Reliability Engineering](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/32f342f355bacf0c6d26/) Sydney NSW, Australia ### [Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, Google Photos Web](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/f4b8b39f95723011fc41/) Sydney NSW, Australia ### [Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, GenAI, Google Cloud](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/df3e86f03f2eb1c3eee0/) Sydney NSW, Australia ## Similar jobs at other companies ### [Principal Cloud Technical Architect (Google)](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/ntt/jobs/d644184d8e2ff07d6883/) NTT · Johannesburg, South Africa ### [Technical Support Engineering](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/microsoft/jobs/b44b35aa48af82937e15/) Microsoft · India, Karnataka, Bangalore ### [Technical Support Engineering Manager](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/microsoft/jobs/7bfc4ac8ade37f0bc809/) Microsoft · Mexico City, México ### [Technical & Engineering Manager / Industrial Equipment W/M](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/bouygues/jobs/78b4c9d3593a2797aee7/) Bouygues · GUYANCOURT, France ### [Senior Specialist Technical Assistant for Engineering Lab](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/infineon-technologies/jobs/fc291260ac5214fd43fb/) Infineon Technologies · Villach OpenNash lists jobs from employers’ own careers sites and does not handle applications.
