Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. Beam is an AI-first 3D video communication platform developed by Google that enables remote conversations to feel like natural, in-person interactions. Formerly known as Project Starline, Beam combines advanced AI volumetric video modeling, spatial audio, and light-field display technology to provide lifelike depth, perspective, and eye contact without requiring headsets or 3D glasses. The team operates in a fast-paced environment handling complex challenges across real-time computing, machine perception, and hardware-software co-design. As a Engineer on Android System and Frameworks, you will drive low-level platform architecture across the Android stack, bridging custom hardware with upper-layer system services. You will deliver low-latency, power-efficient, and robust platform software across custom Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) interfaces (AIDL/HIDL), framework extensions, and runtime performance profiling, owning the foundational software powering the Beam experience. ## At a glance - Posted by the employer: Not stated - First seen by OpenNash: Oct 30, 2026 - Last checked: Oct 30, 2026 - Listed for: Under a day - Location: Mountain View, CA, USA +1 more[Apply on Alphabet’s careers site →](https://www.google.com/about/careers/applications/jobs/results/106829872927515334-senior-software-engineer-android-system-and-frameworks-beam) ## Hiring at Alphabet - Open jobs: 3,591 - New in the last 7 days: After two weekly collections - Tracked since: Aug 20, 2026 [All Alphabet jobs](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/) · [Weekly hiring report](/reports/hiring/) ## More jobs at Alphabet ### [Software Engineering Manager, Views in Maps, Geo](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/47aec5a5eded10abb47e/) Mountain View, CA, USA +1 more ### [Forward Deployed Engineer, Geo Auto](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/92f07197691103ee6846/) Mountain View, CA, USA +1 more ### [Product Manager II, Geo Guidance Experience](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/1abfffeff8305a670640/) Mountain View, CA, USA +1 more ### [Senior Product Manager, Energy Projects, Google Research](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/b14cd8b7e20ae060fae2/) Mountain View, CA, USA +1 more ### [Staff Technical Program Manager, Release Operations Manager, Google Beam](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/alphabet/jobs/06ab1b667c966b23bb57/) Mountain View, CA, USA +1 more ## Similar jobs at other companies ### [Android Lead Software Engineer](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/jpmorganchase/jobs/28a2a44f9c39b452ec7e/) JPMorganChase · Columbus, OH, United States ### [Software Engineer III - Android](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/jpmorganchase/jobs/b17f7d3777796e2f1780/) JPMorganChase · New York, NY, United States ### [Staff Software Engineer (Mobile Android)](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/qualcomm/jobs/cddc10f73bc12922f674/) Qualcomm · San Diego, California, United States of America ### [Mobile Software Development Engineer II - Android](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/bae-systems/jobs/51021e5cff893032b797/) BAE Systems · WP AFB, Ohio, United States ### [Senior Software Engineer - Linux / Android Telephony](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/qualcomm/jobs/d837efdeed69af62b40b/) Qualcomm · San Diego, California, United States of America OpenNash lists jobs from employers’ own careers sites and does not handle applications.
