This position reports to: R&D Department Lead __ Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of Research and Development (R&D) employees in the field of Control Hardware for Medium Voltage Drives. The team consists of experts responsible for developing and managing the life cycle of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), electronics, FPGA solutions, and auxiliary control systems. The work model for the role is: hybrid This role is contributing to the Motion High Power Solutions portfolio in Switzerland. You will work closely with key stakeholders in Product Management, Service and Product Engineering You will be mainly accountable for: Manage, guide, and supervise a team of control hardware and firmware experts who are responsible for Medium Voltage Drives Coordinate activities related to the electronics development process: Requirements engineering, design, implementation, tests, and maintenance Ensure effective and efficient operational procedures in all dealings with other local and global R&D and engineering teams Perform line management duties such as hiring, HR development and coordination of various tasks at team level Qualifications for the role Strong background in Electrical Engineering or a related field Proven track record with PCBA and Electronics development Several experience in project management and/or electronics development Well-developed organizational and strategic abilities Strong interpersonal and people management skills Excellent command of English, preferably complemented by German Benefits We also offer our employees the following benefits: Employee share acquisition plan (ESAP) REKA credit Employee discounts (MyDiscounts / Swibeco) Parental leave Fitness allowance Eco bonus More about us ABB High Power is the market leader in high-performance drives, drive systems and packages for industrial process and large infrastructure applications, and a leading supplier of power conversion equipment for renewable energy and other applications.
